External practices in teacher training: challenges linked to the final degree project

Abstract

In this research, external practices in teacher training at a university in the Dominican Republic were addressed: challenges and challenges linked to the final degree project of the Teaching Practice students. The general objective was to describe the challenges of the Teaching practice linked to the final degree project.

The study responds to the mixed approach with a descriptive design. The population of 350 students and 16 teachers. With convenience sampling.

The techniques used: discussion group and survey. The instruments the questionnaire and a guide to questions.

Among the results are found that the main challenges are: elaboration of reflective diaries, time dedicated to activities, number of classes to develop and the number of subjects they take. As strengths: pedagogical practices are strengthened, reflection, classroom management, develop writing skills, curriculum management, apply pedagogical strategies.
