Abstract

The Psikor research group focuses on the psychosocial adjustment of adolescents, a crucial factor for their educational development, evaluated through academic performance, school involvement, and subjective well-being. Psikor has identified key variables affecting this adjustment, classifying them into contextual and psycho-instructional variables, which led to the development of the Psikor Model, a comprehensive framework for psychoeducational interventions. This study presents a psychoeducational program designed for families of adolescents with the aim of improving their psychosocial adjustment based on this model. An extensive review of evidence-based psychoeducational programs in Spain was conducted, focusing on psychological and socio-personal adjustment variables. A program targeting families was designed after contacting various Parent-Teacher Associations (AMPAS) in the Basque Autonomous Community, achieving the participation of 40 parents who evaluated the training alongside six trainers. The program consisted of eight weekly sessions addressing topics such as adolescent characteristics, self-concept, parental styles, emotional intelligence, and resilience. The training was implemented by six qualified professionals using digital platforms. Questionnaires were used to evaluate session satisfaction. The results reflect a positive assessment of the program and an improvement in perception of educational practices. This program represents a significant advancement in applying research on psychosocial adjustment, offering practical strategies to improve parental skills and students’ school adjustment.
