Implementation of teacher-created audiovisual materials to deliver curricular content, school year 2023-2024

Abstract

The main objective of this research is to implement audiovisual materials created by teachers as educational resources for teaching curricular content in the second cycle of primary education at the Antonio Tiburcio Ruiz Educational Center in the Educational District 04-02 San Cristóbal during the 2023-2024 school year. The research was conducted using a qualitative approach and an action research design. It is a descriptive and inductive study, as it describes situations and events and aims to explore, describe, and improve a problem. The techniques and instruments used included participant observation, interviews, field diaries, photographs, analysis logs, and data triangulation. The sample consisted of eight teachers and the coordinator of the second cycle.

The research results were favorable. An action plan was designed and implemented to train teachers in the creation and use of audiovisual materials, achieving active participation from the teachers. Teachers were sensitized to the importance and impact of audiovisual materials, promoting a deeper understanding and a willingness to integrate these tools into their teaching practices. The training strengthened their skills in producing innovative educational materials and fostered peer collaboration. Additionally, activities were designed to integrate these resources into lesson planning, ensuring their relevance and appropriateness. Finally, the implementation of audiovisual materials showed significant improvements in teaching practices and student learning outcomes.
