Abstract

The new times have demanded progressive changes in the way we teach reading and writing, which has led to rethinking the pedagogical action in schools, promoting reflection on the teaching process in and outside the classroom. Being the quality of the results of the learning a consequence of the process of intervention of the educational reality, the space is propitiated to address the root of the problem in the lack of correspondence between the theoretical and methodological postulates in both the Dominican curricular design and the curricular adaptation and on that note, in relation to the implementation of these approaches, comes the integral methodological proposal of Fe y Alegría arising as a response. for the improvement of the processes of planning, promotion, and evaluation of learning in first grade. This research process aims to verify the effectiveness of the implementation of the proposal by setting the following objectives: To describe the learning outcomes of initial literacy in Spanish Language and Mathematics, after the implementation of the First Grade Collection during the 2022-2023 school year in the CE Fe y Alegría that reflects the current situation and provides inputs for future decision-making aimed at raising educational quality standards. The methodology used is based on the participatory action research model. The result shows that the First Grade Collection favors the processes of initial literacy and contributes to the development of the competencies of the Dominican Curriculum Design promoting quality on public education.
