Abstract

This study aims to describe the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on the teaching-learning process. It seeks to analyze the effectiveness of an AI-based educational response in improving the cognitive abilities of students in the Bachelor of Basic Education program at UASD-Higüey. A detailed review of the use of AI in the educational process will be presented, emphasizing different application areas, evaluation, and student reactions, as well as the creation of virtual assistants or the implementation of conversational agents and virtual assistants. The intervention is grounded in competency-based and connectivist models. The use of AI in educational innovation and its influence on the development of teaching and learning will be examined. Appropriate tools for the responsible use of AI in education will be provided. Its impact on the development of teaching and learning will be analyzed, examining various applications in education, its potential benefits and challenges, and exploring how it can influence the learning experience of UASD-Higüey students. Qualitative and quantitative (mixed) methods will be used to collect and analyze data, including surveys, interviews, and quantitative data analysis. This could provide a deeper understanding of the application areas, benefits, and challenges of AI in education. In general, the methodological strategy used should be adapted to the specific objectives of the study and the availability of data and resources.
