Abstract

Effective educational management is crucial to the success of educational centers. Autonomy in decision-making, especially in the management of resources and in the use of the Center Board, is essential to implement educational programs and improvement plans. However, some centers face difficulties due to a lack of autonomy, which affects the application of educational policies and the improvement of results. It is important to study how autonomy can benefit the management of the Board of Centers to promote more efficient practices and improve the management structure.

The methodology consisted of a structured survey distributed to 25 directors through a Google form. The survey addressed the perception of autonomy, the role of the Center Board and efficiency in school management. The responses, obtained through closed questions, were analyzed to identify patterns and relationships between autonomy, Board participation and management efficiency.

The results reveal a wide variability in the perception of autonomy, from “very autonomous” to “not autonomous at all.” However, the majority consider that the Center Board is essential for effective school management and that autonomy contributes positively. Although Board participation in important decisions is valued, the degree of involvement and implementation can be challenging. In general, an active School Board is associated with greater efficiency in school management.
